Can Real win the Primera this season?

Kaka ronaldoDue to the heavy spending in the summer, Real Madrid finally look like serious title contenders and even the five-point gap behind Barcelona is not the reason for concern. Les Merengues did lose in Bilbao and thus allowed the fierce rivals to create even bigger advantage at the top but there has been no big pressure on the team following the defeat at San Mames and that is a testament of the progress the whole club have made this season.

 

One of the reasons why nobody was too worried by the aforementioned defeat is that San Mames is one of the hottest grounds in Spain, but the most important reason is that Real keep raising the level of their performances. This team finally clicked after the tremendous work Manuel Pellegrini has put in and they are only expected to play better as the Primera campaign unfolds.

 

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka are fit to play and close to their top form and once Gonzalo Higuain recovers, the boss will have the strongest starting 11 available, which is a good reason for optimism. Ezequiel Garay has proven his potential when being called to replace sidelined Pepe, while Marcelo, Albiol and Diarra are getting better by the day.

 

 While Los Merengues had some problems on the travels, their performances at Santiago Bernabeu have been nothing short of impressive and it is definitely a good thing that Real are set to host all the top teams at Santiago Bernabeu in the second part of the season. This basically means that Manuel Pellegrini’s side will play the bottom table teams away and top table teams at home, which looks like the perfect fixture list for the title contenders.

 

With Barcelona not looking as impressive as they did last season, Real Madrid have a realistic chance of mounting a serious title challenge, clearly provided they keep up the high level of performances. The quality and the will power are there, while the atmosphere in the team is improving by the day. All the players seem pretty dedicated to the team’s cause and this is already looking like a very successful season. With Betfair paying 3.50 on Real to lift the Primera title, this offer certainly looks too good to pass.
